I’ve always been shy, which made it hard to talk to women, never mind dating them. I never had problems when I spoke to my mates, but the moment a woman I was interested in came near me I turned red and started to stutter…
I’m sure you know what that meant – I was interested in just about every woman because I never got very far with anyone. My cousin went on a Kama Lifestyles bootcamp because he was struggling to meet women and he told me that the guys at Kama can teach me how to talk to women in a single day.
I didn’t believe him. I’d been having this problem since I was a teenager, so thinking that it could go away in one day… Well, I didn’t think it was possible. I was so sick of being alone that I was willing to try anything and my cousin was very keen on the course. I decided to give them a call and sign up for the bootcamp. It was an incredible experience and worth every cent. My mates can’t believe how much I’ve changed. They’ve started asking me to help them approach women because I’m doing far better than they are these days.
During the theory part of the bootcamp I learnt how my own negative thoughts undermined my confidence and that this is one of the most important things to change. While the coach explained I could see how my lack of confidence affected my life. And made me so scared of rejection that I froze up when a woman came near me. The thing about the course is that you have to work hard to change the things that need to be different about you and your life. You can’t expect someone else to fix it for you. But you are given the tools to make the changes and the coaches show you how to use the skills you learn.
As you can imagine I was scared of the practical parts in the bar and club. I realised I was being scared of nothing but my own negativity when I saw how easy the coach and the other guys made it look and how simple how to talk to women is. The coach was right next to me for the first few approaches and showed me where I could improve. Every time I spoke to a woman I got less scared of being rejected and more confident.
I approached 10 women in the bar… A record for me! When the club part of the course came I was excited. I’d learned how to talk to women and I was anxious to get more practice. By the end of the night I’d chatted to 30 different women! My friends thought I was lying when I told them… until they saw me in action. My cousin was right about the Kama Lifestyles bootcamp: the coaches there taught me how to overcome my fears in a single day. I won’t pretend that I have nothing left to learn, but I have such a good base to work from that I’m sure it will be easier from here on.
